An impending deadline was the starting line of this band's journey. In May 2003, six
students from a modern music school in Piraeus were given two days (48 hours) to
come up with, rehearse and finally perform a 3 hour long live disco - funk set in a
newly founded live music club in the Athenian port of Piraeus. After the success of
the whole venture the guys automatically got the nickname: "The 48 Hour Band"
and so 48 ORES (48 Hours in Greek) became official since the band members liked
the symbolism referring to the frenzy of the modern urban life. Since then, the band
very rapidly evolved to be one of Athens' biggest modern live party-time attractions
appearing in TV Shows and playing in numerous well known clubs and festivals in
Athens.
